St. John’s, Antigua: The Halo Foundation, a non-profit organization championing the vulnerable in Antigua and Barbuda, hosted its highly anticipated annual Wings of Charity gala at The Peninsula London on June 13, 2025.
The event marked another milestone in international philanthropy and community support. Notably, the Calvin Ayre Foundation, a platinum-level sponsor, continued its legacy of sponsorship, reinforcing its vital role in the success of this celebrated fundraiser.
Now in its eighth edition, Wings of Charity brings together dignitaries, corporate leaders, and donors from the UK and beyond, to support the Foundation’s mission—empowering over 30 local Antiguan charities in areas such as Youth & Education, Health & Welfare, and Civic & Community Services.
The Calvin Ayre Foundation has served as a cornerstone sponsor since 2018, reflecting deep-rooted ties to Antigua and Barbuda. In previous editions, this support earned the Foundation prestigious recognition, including the beloved Philanthropist of the Year award presented to Ambassador Calvin Ayre in 2018. In 2019, the Foundation once again assumed platinum sponsorship, enabling transformative aid for the Friends of Care Project, which benefits young people with disabilities.
In attendance were the Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, Sir Rodney Williams, and his wife, Lady Sandra Williams, who is the President and Founder of the Halo Foundation. Also in attendance were the Manager of the Calvin Ayre Foundation, Jamilla Kirwan; the Public Relations Officer of Halo Foundation Inc., Cuthbert Forbes; along with other distinguished guests.
Jamilla Kirwan: Manager, Calvin Ayre Foundation:
“It was an absolute honour to once again partner with the Halo Foundation for the 8th annual Wings of Charity Gala. This year made it even more meaningful, as we helped celebrate their 10th anniversary. At the Calvin Ayre Foundation, we are proud to stand with an organization whose unwavering dedication to service mirrors our own. The Masquerade Ball was not only a night of elegance and purpose, but a reminder of the power of unity, compassion, and giving back to those who need it most.”
Guests at the event were treated to an enchanting evening of fine dining, vibrant live performances spotlighting Antiguan & Barbudan culture, and an engaging live auction. The event epitomized the Halo Foundation’s objective: showcasing local talent, strengthening cultural identity, and extending compassion to those in need.
