The Calvin Ayre Foundation (CAF) has once gain provided crucial support to a local family by funding three months of medical care and covering the costs of an emergency airlift to Guyana for their loved one.
Earlier this week, the CAF, after paying for months of specialized treatment for Jake Wong, organised an air ambulance to transport him to Guyana.
Jake’s sister, Mandy Wong emphasised how crucial it was for her brother to receive timely help during this critical period.
“Jake was in a very critical state; he was not breathing properly, none of that, and Dr John and his team at Medical Surgical Associates went ahead and, you know, started the care for him and started working on a diagnosis as to why Jake was, you know, in such a bad condition.
“We reached out to the Calvin Ayre Foundation for assistance and they got on board with Mr Calvin Ayre and Ms Jamilla and we are so thankful for the Calvin Ayre Foundation and the resources and how they’ve just went above and beyond to allow us to, you know, have Jake in Dr John’s care and his facility so that he could just really get the critical, care that he needed,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Dr John acknowledged the vital role the Calvin Ayre Foundation played in Jake’s recovery.
“Jake received extensive care over the last few months, and I’m pleased to report that he has now stabilized,” he said. “We are in the process of transferring him to Guyana, where he is from, for continued treatment.”
Dr John also commended the foundation’s significant contributions. “This was an incredibly complex case, and I want to express my deep appreciation for the Calvin Ayre Foundation’s generosity and commitment to Jake’s care.”
Following Dr John’s recommendation for specialised treatment, the foundation has organized an air ambulance to transport Jake to Guyana.
The family is expressing heartfelt gratitude for the foundation’s generosity, which has renewed their hope for their relative’s recovery.
