Now in its sixth year, the event brought together car enthusiasts and philanthropists in a breathtaking display of sports cars at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC), to support the future of underprivileged students in the Philippines.
Playing a role as a major sponsor is the Calvin Ayre Foundation (CAF), which has supported this cause for two years in a row. Committed to improving access to education, the foundation has once again made a significant contribution, this time donating $120,000 to support the construction of a Digital Transformation Center at the Sisters of Mary Schools in Silang, Cavite. The new facility will provide students with digital skills essential for future careers—an initiative perfectly aligned with Calvin Ayre’s passion for technology and innovation.
For over 15 years, the Calvin Ayre Foundation has focused on education, helping break the cycle of poverty by empowering young minds. In the Philippines, its impact is evident in the lives of students at the Sisters of Mary Schools, a boarding institution that provides free quality education to children from low-income families.
“This year we have something special for Calvin, and we’re very happy that he has responded,” shared Charlie Rufino, president of the BGC Car Club and convener of the event. “We’re actually building a new school facility called the Digital Transformation Center, where all our kids are going to get upskilled in digital transformation classes. Hopefully, they get better job opportunities and contribute to their families and communities.”

Every year, Sports Cars For A Cause gathers some of the most impressive classic and modern vehicles, attracting collectors and enthusiasts who share a love for automobiles and philanthropy. This year’s theme, “Timeless & Tomorrow,” pays tribute to the evolution of mobility featuring both vintage cars and the latest electric vehicle innovations.
Beyond the spectacle, the true highlight of the event is its charitable mission. As one student beneficiary tells us, “This scholarship means to me the assurance of my future. It’s life-changing.”
In 2024, the funds raised supported 140 scholarships, providing students from disadvantaged backgrounds an opportunity to continue their education. With this year’s expanded goal, including the construction of the Digital Transformation Center, the initiative aims to equip students with future-ready skills that will open doors to greater opportunities.
Tech entrepreneur and philanthropist Calvin Ayre was present at the event, reaffirming his commitment to education. “The thing about education is, it is the one thing that nobody can ever steal from you, so if you allow these children to get a good education then you’ve really done something. You moved the needle a little bit,” he shared. “I’m very proud to be involved in this event.”
