About 60 percent of structures around our office are heavily damaged
or destroyed. Side roads are still filled with debris, though many
main roads are cleared. Three-story buildings pancaked to one story or
less. We are sheltering some of our neighbors at the office.
People are walking with what few possessions they have along the
roads, seeking a safe place to rest or spend the night. Spontaneous
camps are forming in parks, at schools. Water and food are in short
